Happy Friday! š
Most of our 10 years of marriage we’ve lived in places with snow in the winter. Now that we’re back in CA, I don’t miss the snow at all! Ok, not completely true – I love looking at the snow from inside a warm house, ha, ha! I’m loving these snowy pictures from Blair:
Ways to safely keep guns in a home. This is something I feel so strongly about! I hate reading stories of kids accidentally finding loadedĀ guns in someone’s house and shooting and often killing another child. I hate it because it makes me incredibly sad and most of those ‘accidents’ can be prevented.
A few simple ways to be more happy š
Thinking about adding some of these to my core workout!
Ever heard of Hygge?! It’s a Danish philosophy of being cozy, I think we can allĀ get behind that!
I joined a soccer team and am looking forward to playing more! I haven’t played outdoor full field in years and even though I am sore today it was a lot of fun!
We used toĀ go to OliveĀ garden a ton before we had kids. I feel like their quality has not been the same in the last few years. One of my favorite items (besides the lemon cake they used to have on their dessert menu) is their Zuppa Toscana soup. I recently found this recipe and looking forward to trying it.
Love these words about being yourself.
Recently bought thisĀ vitamin C facial tonerĀ that is supposed to hydrate, brighten and reduce pore size. I bought it based on reviews it received on Amazon. I’ve been using witch hazel for years but have felt my skin becoming more ‘dull’ with age. After a week of using 1-2 times daily, I obviously haven’t seen huge results yet, but I have felt that my skin has been more hydrated and supple. The toner hasn’t had any negative effects like over drying, breaking out, etc. I’ll keep you updated on more results!
Lots to celebrate today! –
Today is my and Brent’s birthday! I can’t believe he’s FIVE! His due date was I think 5 days after my birthday andĀ it was aĀ great surprise to have him born on my birthday –Ā Ā love celebrating my birthday with my firstborn š
We surprised for their birthdays with their first time at Disneyland and a Monster Truck Jam show (at the Angels Stadium)! It was so fun to experience those with them and for them to see the magic of Disneyland! It’s been a crazy and exhausting week but fun to have our 3 birthdays so close to each other!
Tomorrow IĀ get to attend a baby shower for my best and most loyal friend! They’ve been actively waiting 7+ years for their little miracle baby.
Does anyone have a robotic vacuum?! Our home in Texas and our current home in CA have all wood floors. I love the look andĀ glad we didn’t inheritĀ grungy carpet. I’m intrigued with the idea of a robot vacuum, it would make it much easier to clean crumbs and dog hair that I’m constantly sweeping up š
I recently tried this firedĀ grilledĀ steak bowl for lunch and loved it! I usually don’t eat frozen food but received this one complimentary to review. It was quick and easy to make and tasted similar to the veggie burrito bowl I like from Chipotle. I loved that it had 20Ā grams of protein and 8Ā grams of fiber! I can’t remember the exact cost but it was around $3-$4. The only con was that I was still hungry afterwards (although maybe this is a reflection of me and my eating habits rather than the meal ha!) I would definitely buy it again!
Agree with many of these 6 things I didn’t realize about having a baby
I might be living under a rock but I just found out whatĀ skin essenceĀ is last week – has anyone tried one?! There seems to be a lot of types with varying functions including hydration, creating a more even skin tone, etc. I’m interested inĀ this one from The Body Shop, the benefits seems nice of course and I’ve used Body Shop products in the past (like theirĀ Tea Tree Oil Facial Wash
Ā which I love!)
How to have an awesome weekend WITHOUT spending any money!
One of my favorite quotes from Martin Luther King Jr.:
Friday morning yoga is my favorite way to end a week!
We’reĀ going to see this movie tonight. I’ve only heard positive reviews so I’m excited to check it out!
Loved these 60 Ways to Make Life Simple! I feel like life canĀ get really busy and complicated without even realizing it. I enjoyed this list of easy reminders we can do to make life more simple and more enjoyable.
I recently downloaded this Taco app which helps you find tacos wherever you are! It pulls up tacos based on your location. I haven’t used it a ton yet but love the idea and tacos, of course.
An app that pays you for working out? I downloaded AchievemintĀ last month whichĀ gives you points based on how much you walk/exercise by syncing to other fitness apps (I use my Fitbit Alta and MyFitnessPal). When you accumulate 10,000 points they send you $10. It isn’t much but I figure I might as wellĀ get paid for something I’m already doing! I’m almost at 3,000 points š
Need a few more New Year’s resolutions? I loved these ideas.
My best and most loyal friend made this awesome announcement after 7 years of waiting and trying for their babyĀ girl:
As I totally love tartan and plaid, I’m loving Ā Blair’s look (from Atlantic Pacific):
While Dave was away in CA last week to start his new job, I started re-watching Downton Abbey and reminisced my love of the Crawley sisters and Mary’s amazing wardrobe! I love the time period the series takes place from the actual historical events of WW1 to the apparel and proper speech.
